BIG CITY MUSIC
12 Inch
28.02.06
big city music has this very special hip-shaking beat construct. the track just starts with one hihat, one short shaker, dry claps paired with two simple lead sounds. one of them repeating itself until the end and one to be morphed up and down, increasing and decreasing all the time. an exciting journey through changing tone lengths and different faces of at least one melody. on the flip side you find >asanebo<, another unique smasher. again this funky groove, but the sound surrounding comes a bit more spheric and mystic. an excellent track to loose yourself on the floor
TRUST NO ONE EP
12 Inch
27.02.06
the sentinel invites you further into his dark and menacing psyche. the deepness and electrotronic funk is bounceing right out of your speakers infectious percussion, dark, funk filled sounds playing on your paranoia. one of the killer tracks on this records is wrong time which gets straight into some electro funk bass with warm eery synths and mysterious lyrics and a deep space musical atmosphere. you might very well get lost in this one. get down and get real low and engross yourself in the thick funk and idiosyncratic german vocal from down under. great release on this cool label..

MY TANGERINE
12 Inch
22.02.06
on the a side >my tangerine< hits the nail on the head with a ravin peak time groover that sounds like it may have been made on an old casio or something with an amazing break sounding like an old ringtone and then the groove comes back making sure to get the crowd euphoric on the dancefloor...some fresh and new techno vibes from these pilliars of the french touch, adapting their feeling into a more electro vibe. flip is called >unbelieveable< and while a little tougher, follows the same sort of formula..unbelievable ! supports from tiga, gildas & masaya (kituné), sven vath, ricardo villalobos

on la manie oliver koletzki released originally the track mÜckenschwarm. after oliver koletzki left la manie because of his own career, michael sehte get into the project and brought his anarchistic character in the new tracks. and here they are, the new tracks. >drecksbeat< sounds like it s called. dirty, nasty, horrible. the consequential continuation of >mückenschwarm<. it will be transform the dancefloor into a pillow fight and jawing match at the same time. the b-side track >the cocka hola company< is affected by the homonymous wonderful book of michael forsakken. the gloomy matrix retrieves memories of old ebm-days. it is sallied by a an elegiac melody. its for the dj who will not shrink from kitsch. see you at the floor. the weasel-quick children from downtown are back!

MULTIPLE PARTITIONEN THREE
12 Inch
24.01.06
the third release from nachtfrequent brings us four new fresh tracks from leo cubanero. two of them – play and english mafia – were layed down in co-operation with patrick di stefano(generalelektrik). the first tune is a very clubby track sporting some eccentric dodgy sounds. minimal oppressive but easily triggerin your dancing feet at the same time. the following play plays slower but has however a very funky touch with mad pitched vocals and the jostling basslines. rigth here and anywhere else this track is a burner. funky fat sounds and vocals which seem to come out directly of the lunatic asylum. and finally english mafia which weaves in the garb of minimal house a very nice carpet with memorable elektroid sounds. fine pads - not one gram too much

OLD MAN SORROW EP
12 Inch
10.01.06
as with typical of voltmusik releases the old man sorrow idea began in 2002, and was finally cut in 2005 ! old man sorrow is a trip back in time , deep, soulful music for the head ! a tribute to the old disco style coming in at unhurried 120 bpm with bluesy vocals, warm, sweeping grand piano chords and melancholic string-filled breakdowns this was drawn right from the foundation of dance music by brun ( swayzak ) with the help roger 23 and kenny paterson. forget minimal house its boring

SOUL POWER
12 Inch
30.12.05
the original version of this is euphoric techno with classic detroit strings and a nagging spoken vocal, but mike mondays remixes are pure hands in the air peaktime techhouse. the playtime boss provides two stellar reworks: a sublime, string-drenched acid builder complete with vintage piano breakdown, and a piano-less dub for those darker, heads-down moments. drop the sans piano remix at the right time, and carnage will most definitely ensue

SYMPHONIE ELECTRIQUE
12 Inch
28.12.05
well deserving of the title 'symphony electrique', the song starts off subtle with a thick 'tick tock' time keeping rhythm and moody science fiction sequence which could have been a lost soundtrack session for the x-files. the broad and melodic themes here are soaring and strong, the painstaking drum programming is intricate with its deceptively 'live' sounding traps. an engaging electronic exercise that spreads out extensively like a warm blanket on a chilly night, and yet offers enough meat on the bone to urge a bump or two in sound systems and home listening headphones alike
